Why choose School Angel to help your School?
If you want to generate at least three times more funds than any of the other fundraising websites, using a super simple bespoke fundraising page for your school which lets your supporters help your school without the need for passwords, accounts or logins then keep reading....
Like so many things in life nowadays there is always plenty of choice, and even when it comes to picking the right organisation to work with for school fund-raising there are several options for you to choose from.
We know many schools already work with other organisations raising school funds and we would never suggest that they should change to School Angel if they are happy with a commercial fundraiser. The charity does not directly advertise nor pay for any promotion to schools. However sometimes there is confusion about exactly how the different organisations actually work and what that means for your school and supporters. The school fund-raising market is largely dominated by commercial companies, however since 2013 School Angel has offered the option to use a charity to do the same job and allow your school to benefit much more. (Please note 'the giving machine' is also a registered UK charity but is currently unable to come anywhere close to the donation level School Angel delivers). On this page is a simple comparison between some of the organisations already working with schools predominantly through the PTA's and our charity School Angel. |

To measure our performance against other fundraising alternatives in the UK we use three major retailers, namely Amazon, John Lewis and Marks & Spencer.
These are selected because Amazon is the largest retailer by sales volume in the UK with between 25 - 45% of all sales generated from online fundraisers coming via Amazon. John Lewis and Marks & Spencer are regarded by economists as the 'bellwether' of the British high-street with both generating large online sales volumes.
In the year ending 5th April 2019 School Angel achieved the following average donation rates:
We don't include gift aid since this is dependant upon several external factors such as the donor being a UK taxpayer, agreeing to share data with HMRC and opting into the system.

easyfundraising
Easyfundraising.org.uk is by far the biggest company working with UK schools. They target PTA's and have a large website and over 3000 retailers. They are a commercial affiliate company and keep at least 50% of every donation they receive. They state you get 100% of the donation amount stated on their website, which is true but this is almost always less than half the amount School Angel receives from retailers. Lots of people seem to assume that they are a charity because they use a .org.uk domain extension for their website (.org.uk domain extensions are intended for non-profits and charities, unfortunately some commercial businesses abuse this classification). To use their service you are required to create an account with your name and email address. They will work with anyone who wants to raise funds for a 'good cause'. They have a commercial relationship with the charity ParentKind which is the largest PTA association in the UK. ParentKind in turn promote them to their member PTA's, which to us seems wrong since they do not provide the best way for schools to raise funds using this cash-back method, but they do have much deeper pockets than we do to pay for this promotion.
The Giving Machine
The giving machine is a registered UK charity limited by guarantee which allows you too fundraise for any good cause or school. Despite being a charity they only manage to return 50% of each donation before gift aid, which is comparable to the standard commercial companies.
Give as you live
Another commercial affiliate company working in just the same way as easyfundraising, they advertise with PTA+ the second largest PTA supporters group in the UK. Again they keep 50% of donations for the company. They work with any charity, church or company to raise money.
School Angel
School Angel is a charity regulated by the charities commission in England & Wales. This allows us to operate as a fully registered charity with any school throughout the entire UK.
We are dedicated to working just with schools and specifically to helping all school children achieve their potential during the most important years of their lives. Our website does not require you to ever login, create accounts or remember passwords. We collect no personal data from our visitors. We make no profit and return the full 100% of every donation to be used by schools to help their school children. We believe that School Angel is simply the most efficient way for any school to raise funds using affiliate marketing and we are dedicated to making sure we will always deliver the maximum amount of money back to it's intended cause. You can read more about our commission structures here.
In addition to this the charity also supports disadvantaged children in our schools each year through our extensive grant programme.
